They don't see that the globalization ship has sailed and that they're competing for jobs against everyone on the world; not just other Americans. And protectionism simply causes your country to implode.
It's kind of funny because many of these same people will also criticize France - a country that's trying as hard as possible to be protectionist! And protect jobs and a middle class way of life. In the end, however, this is all just political posturing. Nothing will happen because it can't. Like it or not, Americans need the skill set to compete and that's creative skill set. I still hear many developers talk about hiding their knowledge to prevent it from going off-shore. WAKE UP! It's the business knowledge that's important and that's not being out-sourced. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:201819 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
