So, to boil it down, your 2 major points are: 1.) Bush wants a line item veto but just can't get it. Name a single time he's even asked Congress to consider it. Name a single time he's ever brought it up as an initiative. Even if we assume that you're right, he wants it, then that means that Republicans, as a party, don't. Since if they did it'd be law. 2.) Congress is not made up solely of Republicans. Agree. But THEY CONTROL CONGRESS. Name a Republican that's put forth a line item veto in any bill. Now name the Republicans that supported it. Dude: Republicans DON'T WANT A LINE ITEM VETO. What the Dems want are irrelevant since they don't control congress or the presidency. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:205888 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
