It took me six years to get my black belt, every belt was earned through sweat, tears and sometimes blood. Master Gonzalez is incredible at motivation through example and encouragement.
(note: children's classes, in the WTF generally don't do full contact sparring, it's very, very controlled but there is substantial contact. I got up to green belt, then switched to karate. The owner of the karate school said he'd honor my green belt.
