No, because we're not talking about the Chinese army here. But, yeah,
you're right, they could grow to that size if the US and Israel
continue to pursue the blow-the-shit-out-everything campaign.

The irony I find in your point is that it's your exact attitude that's
making the problem worse! There's a bunch of average Joe's that were
starting night clubs, construction businesses, etc. Then the economy
of their country was blown to shit, their neighbors killed, and now
they're joining Hezbollah. And they're saying the same thing you are,
"when people attack my family ..."

Conventionally military forces cannot defeat insurgencies, religious
movements, or guerrillas. Period. That's been proven time and time
again. Where do think all of the Christians around you came from!
The Romans tried to kill them all! Did it work?

The only way you can defeat "asymmetric" forces like this is:

1.) Punish governments that support them. i.e., Afghanistan.
2.) Human intelligence to,
3.) Use small hit teams to wipe them out while,
4.) providing a strong economy to give people a real option at a
peaceful living.

That's it. It's been proven so many time that I'm shocked anyone
would try to argue different.
