There are some of these people. They can't really be argued with. If they
chose to have faith in an ancient book instead of scientific study, well,
OK, can't really do much about that.

Some of the ID'ers I've talked to, however, go farther by saying evolution
itself is flawed, and that evidence actually supports the Bible more so than
evolution. It's these people that I have a huge problem with.

Ignoring the misunderstanding of lineage, all they're basically saying

How can you be "intellectually honest" if you are ignoring intellect and
going on faith? You can't. Faith can be used to justify
anything....intellect be damned.

I also like to pull out the fact of how the Bible says that pictures

The Bible is all over the place on a host of things. Is it eye for an eye,
or turn the other cheek? Is it kill the infidels, or love your neighbor? Is
it cast out the sinners, or is it ye without sin cast the first stone? Is
it all are welcome into God's kingdom, or is it a lucky 144,000?

You could spend hours drawing intellectual paradoxes with someone who's
trying to interpret the Bible literally.

Anyway all this shows to me is that Man has not yet figured out how to
> merge spirituality, religion, and science.

Maybe "Man" hasn't, but I sure have. I'm comfortable as hell with my faith
and my science.

Cool....

What I know for a fact is that I have an intellect and can reason. If

I have no idea what he expects....that's part of where faith comes in. I
certainly think using what was given me seems like a pretty good idea
though.

The whole "have faith" line is cop out and exit ramp for
> intellectually lazy people who don't want to continue to seek The

Sometimes, but most definitely not all the time. I have faith...i have faith
that there is a Creator greater than me. In all honesty, I only have my
faith because reason leads me to believe that something greater than myself
is not only possible, but likely.

All the same though, I can't prove it...so my belief in it is still "faith".

In no way is that faith a cop out or exit ramp for anything.

"Have faith" is the Church's mechanism to excuse people from work

What do you mean by this? What work are they excusing people from? Science?
Don't follow you here.
