You totally miss the point. Hezbollah has been allowed to grow and attack Israel at will for years. Then, in a cross border raid aimed at provoking Israel, they kidnapped 2 Israeli soldiers and killed 2 others. Israel's response was exactly what Hezbollah wanted: a brutal attack on Lebanon, the aftermath of which has essentially handed the country to Hezbollah. Thus the defeat. It has nothing to do with numbers, and everything to do with effective results. Israel has spent lots of money and lost soldiers to effectively hand over all of Lebanon to Hezbollah. If that's victory then I guess triumph would be losing all of the Middle East to Muslim extremists. Speaking of which ... this is exactly what's happening in Iraq. America has spent billions and lots thousands of lives to hand Iraq over a government that's actively supportive of Hezbollah. So the bottom line is this: when are western governments going to learn that this strategy doesn't work?
