We're in a domestic dispute here and the solution is likely this:

* A Turkish supported northern Kurdistan.
* A Sunni western Iraq
* A Shiite Bahgdad
* The south?

The insurgency is only 5% of the action. We're in the middle of a
domestic and the main 2 sides have no intention of backing down.

So there's nobody for the US to fight since we can only try to stop
them from fighting each other and there's no way we can do that.

As JJ said: the Iraqis with the guns have chosen to fight: not us, but
each other. And we can't stop them. So let 'em fight, or carve up
the country for them.
