sure, basic facts, but to this day, i've not really remembered my 12's
multiplication tables.  I use shortcuts in my math all the time.  What's
12x11?  To me it's 12x10 + 12.

I remember in grade school having to test over the multiplication tables all
the way to 12....What good does that do when you're asked what's 13x14?
