if that was true then you could run any dell witith vista ultimate and all the
aero stuff would work, but as we know it doesnt, yet it will work on any intel
mac .

They do use some of the graphic cards and ram but Apple is a hardware company
mostly, so im going on a limb here but Im gunna say they use some of their own
hardware lol

as far as the dell being cheaper, maybe maybe not but a lot of people have
compared them.

on the photos, you kinda answered my point and
"They are cheaper because they use fewer smaller elements, and the light
metering doesn't work as well."
well that maybe the case on nikons but on most others you get better quality
glass, you get better construction (maybe metal over plastic, or stronger
plastics), on canons you also get weather and dust seals, etc..

"But you are right, the cheaper lenses use cheaper components. "
"They are cheaper because they use fewer smaller elements, and the light
metering doesn't work as well."
exactly, and Apple doesnt want cheap components for all the obvious reasons,
they want their OS to work across the board, they dont want their end user
experience dependent on whether some cheap pc maker gets decent components this
week. Of course they limit themselves by doing so but As an Apple user I like
that.

Apple is a hardware company that just happens to have an OS that rocks, the sad
part of that is that OS X kicks the shit outta windows and m$ IS a software
company lol

And for those who say it doesnt, then why is m$ so into trying to mimic OS X?

M$ isnt a computer maker (thank god) so they dont give a rats ass what its run
on or what the user experience is as long as they sell a copy of it.
