"Dell, IBM, HP can ALWAYS under cut Apple on costs." Yeah they can undercut apple and to do so they use crap components, basically they use whatever they can get that nobody else wants, bottom of the barrel junk.
And look what happens with that... You go to Dell and buy a $500 everything - included setup that can barely run right. Apple wants and expects that if you use OS X that your experience will be good and to do so they use better components so that you dont have a shitass computer and it runs OS X the way it was meant to be run. Look at Michael Dell, he himself has repeatedly said that he'd move Dell's to OS X if he could but Apple doesnt want OS X run on a crap computer because your user experience then suffers. If you are to damn cheap to buy a good computer that is your business, if you don't know any better then you need to learn. If you go to Dell and price out a good computer with the as close as possible components to a mac then you will quickly see even the Dell is WAY more $$. All you people with your mac opinions based on 10 years ago need to get with it, 90% of the arguments I hear about Apple's havent been true for like 6-7 years now. This wasnt to be a debate over pc vs osx, I just thought it WAS EXTREMELY FUNNY that the m$ manager for end user experience is constantly shown with his mac. You can debate it all you want, like it or not but obviously m$ is trying to copy Apples easy of use. I just got into photography.. because I had too and now it's becoming a hobby, a very expensive hobby at that. I bought a Canon 30D which was around $1600 and now I have been buying lens's and I kept trying to find a good lens for under $200, and i bought like 6 of them. And some of these promise as good of quality as the more expensive ones, they just are as well built. Well the truth is that the components in the $1,000+ lens are just that much better then the cheapo ones, therefor you get better, sharper pictures which gives you a better user experience. Why should it be any different for a computer? Granted you can buy a really expensive pc that will run well but the theory hear is the same. Unfortunately, most m$ users user experiences are so low that they just dont understand what a GOOD user experience is.
