My problem with the plan that states are trying to put into place has to do with the numbers. New York wants the state to provide healthcare for children (anyone aged 24 or younger) in a household with up to a $82,000 annual income. Why should *my taxes* pay for health care for the children of someone that is making more than I do? If you really want to reform healthcare, look to reduce the size and cost of medical insurance providers and pass tort reform to clean up lawsuits and reduce the cost of malpractice insurance. It is not the state's place to pay for medical insurance.
