Bro, you need a hobby. My parent still don't understand why I love surfing,
and they continue to badger my wife (funny that they will not bring it up to
me) about quitting and "getting serious" about my career.

What they don't appreciate is that surfing is my outlet. If I am frustrated,
burned out, or whatever, I can paddle out and ride waves for 2-3 hours and
forget about everything else. It's very therapeutic.

Last week we had the best waves in SoCal since big Wednesday, December
19-21, 2005. I paddled out for three days into 12-18 foot surf, got shacked
in some huge waves, took a couple of outside bombs right on the head
(snapped a leash on one and had to swim to shore), enjoyed the camaraderie
of my fellow big wave riders, and generally just had a kick ass time.

This week I am totally re-charged and ready to jam on projects.

It doesn't matter what the hobby is, it just needs to be something that you
enjoy that takes your mind off of your daily hassles.
