It wasn't "sitting there and scratching" kind of scratching but "jumping up and hooking onto the wood to get higher" kind of scratching. ;^) Oh - and you can also hang strips of carpet remnants from the doorknobs (perhaps even glued to a nice piece of wood) for use as cheap scratching "posts". > >Now the problem is the curtains - to get and down from the window sill > he's > >not treating the sheer curtains very well. The main problem is that the curtains are usually closed - it's a big picture window and when they're open you can see directly into my house from the street. Most of his damage seems to come from worming his way behind them. Of course the curtains are also decades old and flimsy as hell (it's a very nice, custom window treatment that came with the house but was probably put in when the house was built). Ah well... what we do for pets.
