Yeah, based on what other wrote I would say your options are:

(1.) Do what they say and fuhgetaboutit.

(2.) Send them a reply telling them that you don't appreciate their
tone and while you may be willing to negotiate a win-win, threatening
you is not the way to encourage you to partner with them for a
positive outcome.  If they would like to start over, you are willing
to forget any previous interaction.

(3.) Find an attorney willing to work for damages and sue them first.
Have your attorney send them a letter stating that all previous offers
are hereby rescinded and offer to settle for attorney's fees + $1000
for the domain name.

If you work for a corporation they probably have "legal aid" and their
attorneys will take your case for free.  If not, there may be
community legal aid.  And, of course, there are 1000s of lawyers look
to take a case like this to make an easy buck; the cost of a letter
and few more hours will net them $1000 or more.
