Okay so I'm always late to the party and usually without much of a gift to bring! ;-)
I cannot say what follows is an explanation of dinosaurs and evidence of evolution, but perhaps it may impart some light into the issues. First, I personally believe that evolution happens. Things evolve. Things change. Situations change and species either adapt, assimilate or die. I'm cool with that. For the sake of simplification let's analogize creation with starting an aquarium. (Yes, this is flawed already, I know.) When properly starting an aquarium you need some bio-culture in there, so before you get your fancy fish, you throw in some feeder goldfish to poop around. Then you take the feeders out or dispose of them somehow. The poop is still there. If I were to perform an analysis of the substrate in the water, I would find that poop. Perhaps what we refer to dinosaurs and such is simply well orchaestrated poop for which to build the world on. Perhaps it is placed also as a stumbling block to faith. After all, if nothing ever tested faith, we wouldn't need faith. I'm also not totally reconciled that God did, in fact, create the earth in 6 days. But what I am reconciled with is that if God wanted to, He could. We have geological samples that show the world is millions of years old, if not billions. But if you were God, wouldn't you know that you'd need billion year old rock to make earth in 6 days? So you'd make billion year old rock. Hey, we antique things all the time. We even create diamonds in days compared to the thousands of years geological processes take. So why couldn't God? As for poor design (I know you didn't go into this Todd, Larry did) if you think the design of your eyes suck, why don't you pull them out and make new ones? If we look at the Christian Bible we see that with the fall of Adam and Eve came sickness and death. Rationaly, it makes no sense, but it's what some people believe. I would like to find someone with these beliefs and ask them to explain dinosaurs and all of the other scientific evidence that supports evolution. Maybe they have such explanations .. *shrug* Todd Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
