And the use of biodiesel isn't using FUEL?  Doesn't a diesel engine "burn
stuff"?  Aren't you burning stuff to transport your biodiesel all over the
place?  I would posit that you use a heck of a lot more FUEL transporting
and refining a continuous supply of Jahooba (or whatever the stuff is
called) for making your biodiesel than you would putting battery systems in
a car.  Not to mention that the technology for high power LI batteries is
already there, thanks to the computer revolution and the evolution of your
common laptop computer.

The problem with electric cars is that they STILL depend on fuel AND they
take up resources to design, build, and manufacture.

Why not just put those same resources into solving the problem rather than
simply treating the symptoms?
