is it only IE or all internet browsing? You might investigate your
network protocols. See if you are running something silly like
ipx/spx. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is a wirely home network
and we don't know what caused the original problem, right?

Some other things to think about:

is there anything in add/remove programs that you don't recognize?
Have you been playing on Kazaa? Try running Ad-Aware and Spybot.

Antivirus programs are notoriously neurotic. Does the problem go away
if you disable yours?

try an ipconfig release and renew
