No-one is hostage to anything, and Lincoln freed the slaves a long
time ago.  If you need it you can probably find a copy of the memo in
the national archives.

This is a free country - don't like your job?  Quit.  No jobs where
you live?  Move.  Out of Dorritos and cherry flavored Zima?  Go to the
store.

These are all problems VERY easily solved.  Some people would rather
have their girlie Cherry Zima brought to them.  Tough shit - it's not
someone else's job to go get it for you.  It might be unpleasant and
you might not wanna do it, but them's the breaks.

I'm sorry, but there is no-one in America who's a slave or held
hostage to their employer unless they are actually being held
*hostage* against their will, which is a case for the police not a
union.
