Todd-

I sincerely hope you are correct in your assessment of the situation, and
that things turn right side up again soonest.

And I applaud you for your attitude about the situation. I think if the VPs
are getting zero, and they are trying to keep all the staff on, that both
they and you are being mensches about this.

<fingers crossed>

-Ben

Well, they are giving us Fridays off as a little bit of compensation ;).

The reason it's different is because I'm looking at the long term. I'm
pretty sure the company is going to pull through unscathed and I will
have
an excellent future with them when they do. After the immediate crisis
is
over, I will be back to my normal salary. Plus, the company will recoup
some of my losses in back pay. They could have just let a bunch of
people
go and kept salaries the same, but they asked us all to put up with this
so
they don't have to let anyone go .. if at all possible.

In addition to my salary, I get an excellent benifits package and free
certifications in MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA, Cisco, Oracle, CIW, A+, Net+,
whatever.

Like I said, I'm looking and keeping my options open, just in case, but
for
now, this is the best deal in the area (and there aren't many) ..
especially
considering the long term potential. If an offer comes along that 'I
can't
refuse', then I will take it, but until then, I'm ok where I am .. as
long
as this isn't more than a couple months investment. The business plan
is
sound and has doudbled revenue every year for the last 7 years .. it's
just
now the government has started screwing us over (from what I understand,
we
currently have several million due us that they won't let us have).
Thanks
BOEs!

This company has given me a good job and good opportunities, so I'm
giving
them a little faith and support when they are a little down. I'm not
one to
jump ship at the first sign of trouble. It's the way I've treated all
of my
employers and it's worked well for me so far. I've had to move on a few
times, of course, but even then, every step away has been a step up ...
and
no bridges burned :)
