I agree with Eric.  I was part of a small company (about 8 people total) and
when the well started to run dry, I was assured that we had at least 2-3
months left at least.  Less than a week later they laid me off.   I don't
hold any ill will towards them -- they did what they had to do, but the fact
was that those who informed me that I had nothing to worry about did not
have all the right information.
