This one scares the crap out of me. My wife has been given phenegryn
shots several times for migraines (and has a pill prescription now).
It was great. Then I just read a month or so ago about the Supreme
Court ruling that a drug company could be sued for not putting
adequate warnings/instructions on their drugs even if the labeling was
approved by the FDA.

What was the situation that caused the suit? Turns out that people
lose limbs if Phenegryn is given as intravenously instead of
intramuscularly. I knew that she had always gotten the shot in her hip
and I could have done it myself. But what if a nurse had tried to give
her the shot in her arm? Would I have tried to stop her and say, "um,
doesn't it normally go in her buttock?" I don't know. During those
times I'm just trying to comfort her while she is in horrid pain. I
might not think to question the nurse and I know more than most.

There is so much to know in that field and so much that can go wrong
even with good intentions. Scary stuf
