you're so full of shit. I don't get something that tells me what I already know, and I'm responsible for the health care crisis. Eyeroll. I know you work for a health care organizaion, and it's pc to bemoan a lack of preventative care, but please realize that you have drunk the koolaid. I am not interested in screening for heart disease. Been there, done that, don't have it, and am taking steps to prevent it from developing.
The stuff I do have is not addressed by a standard physical. Doctors who hear abouut it want to know if I am seeing a specialist -- and I am. That said, there is a role for preventive health care -- it worked in my case, in that a chronic condition was identified before it caused major harm -- but I see no need to mindlessly repeat screenings whose results are a forgone conclusion ;P Diabetes -- don't have it. Blood pressure -- always low. Chloresterol -- always low. BMI -- too high. Working on that. Shrug. Not worth the time or the money to hear the above from someone else.
