I think any new policy MUST "bend the cost curve" as Obama likes to
say or it will reform nothing. And, as mentioned before, those costs
are on the provider side. Period.

But I also think we have to cover everyone as soon as possible so that
we can start to quantify how to take the next step; certainly we
*could* bend the curve now, but it's impossible to know right now what
target we need to hit. For that reason, some massive restructuring is
probably a bad idea.

Thus, to the extent that any policy change at least "gets people in
the boat" I'm for it, but hesitantly so because you can always make
things worse.

That having been said, for me the perfect solution is the Swiss model:
clever regulation, private operation. That will probably never pass
here, though, because then Congress won't get your money but they'll
still have to work to create the legislation.

So until then, Congressional Democrats will continue to spread mis-
and disinformation about healthcare until something is put in place
where your dollar goes through their pocket first.

Beware of anyone who says, "just give me your money and I'll spend it
wisely for you.
