Because money that comes through the government isn't like money in,
say, a corporation? How exactly are they going to get these funds
into their personal accounts? You can't just give yourself a raise,
and, um, profits? Yeah, I just don't think it works like you seem to
imply.

So, what, the director gets to pocket the awesome amount of 3 mil?
They get to take the money and do whatever they want with it, like
giving themselves million dollar raises or some such? Do they get
million+ dollar parachutes, like some CEOs now, maybe?

(For the love of money, eh? An interesting thought pattern... does it
reflect something? ;])

Do you honestly believe their motivation is purely based on money?

$541,184 for three years? That's like what, 5 people making 36 grand
a year? Assuming it all goes to paychecks, which it don't.

I thought you said "they" were making billions off this stuff?

And a university that specializes in this area of research shouldn't
get any more money? Does the author even know how universities, and
indeed, The System in general, works? :)p

I don't.

Frankly, this whole spin about "scientists" using climate change to
funnel billions into their private pocketbooks, seems [more than]
sorta silly.

It just doesn't work the way you're advocating it works (they say
capitalism is all about the money, so we'll say science is all about
the money!).

There's more to life than dualism, dude. It's rich, and lovely- not
even close to black and white...

You should come take a gander at the shades and gradients, they're swell!

And you don't have to be high as a kite to see 'em.

But I think you should get high as a kite. You know, get some perspective.

*denstar gives Sam a shotgun hit (and Sam leans into it, so it's like
a smooch too)

If you keep talking trash about New Mexico, you'll get a hit off the
gravity bong.

'cause I'm an asshole, you bad man. :)
