140BCE is the 2nd century BCE, btw.

After the death of Alexander the Great, the formerly vast kingdom was
split up. The area encompassing modern day Israel/Palestine was under
control of Antioch IV when the Jews began to rebel under Mattathias
Maccabeus and his sons.

I was named after Judah Maccabeus, btw.
