The illegals probably have some impact on schools.

By the way, I meant to post that study yesterday and got pulled away.
The one I saw a while back said that the net effect of illegal
immigration was slightly positive. I did not put my hands on that one
but googling "economic effects illegal immigration" got me a wikipedia
that referenced a study by the Congressional Budget Office that says
its effect is probably negative, but minor. The difference is probably
in the assumptions, but I'd be happy to go along with the CBO.

Education is one area where there probably is an effect. We
homeschooled at one point because the local school was too overwhelmed
with ESL students to do my dually exceptional kids much good. But this
is anecdotal and I don't think you can hang the de-funding of schools
exclusively on immigration vs say war spending.

Ok, and here again, yeah there are gangs amongst illegal immigrants,
as we saw in Salinas, but there are other gangs too....

all twelve million of them or whatever :D You know there's no budget for that.

That medical screening was a joke ;P and there is actually a local
non-profit clinic that seems pretty busy. It takes medicaid but
according to the writeups most people pay cash and/or are subsidized
by donations.

well ok if the standard is that we don't need to be better that a
corrupt dictatorship, then sure.

> I notice you didn't bring up the argument about hospital closing in CA.

Missed it. No information on the subject, pro or con.
