You could say that. I have never been rear ended Am I lucky? Just
because it hasn't happened to you. 1 in 6280 (or so) people will be
killed in auto accidents. Those are scary odds.

3 of my 4 rear-endings were cars, one was a jeep cherokee so I guess
I've
been lucky?

No, seriously. Someone runs a red light, rear ends you, any number of
thingscan happen. I see small cars in accidents all the time. I saw an
accident this weekend between a 4Runner and a older Grand Am. Lady in
Grand Am ran a red light and got t-boned by the 4-runner. Guy in
4-runner fine, lady in Grand Am, not fine. I think she was lucky that
she made it far enough through that the truck hit the back end of her
car. If she had been hit on the driver door I don't think she would
have made it.

You just have to be nimble and manuever around them. I don't really see
a
lot of little cars involved in accidents. It seems to be larger cars and
SUVs. At least around D.C.

In the age of the SUV, potential MINI buyers might question the safety
of these tiny machines that will be dwarfed by the average Denali,
Explorer, LandCruiser or Land Rover. Anticipating these concerns, BMW
has taken safety to a new level in the reborn Cooper lineup, adding
active safety features, such as four-wheel vented ABS with Electronic
Brake Force Distribution and Cornering Brake Control, traction control
and a standard runflat tire indicator.

Just one question, how are any of those things going to save you when
you get hit by an SUV? ABS and traction control are nothing new.

I have been resisting the temptation.

I really like the retro touches in the interior.

I have seen a few driving around Des Moines. Really small! :) Anybody
driven one yet?
