Till then they were Arabs like their brothers in what is now Jordan, etc. But don't believe me, believe a Palestinian. The British had as much right to the land as the Turks before them or anyone else. If they own the land then they can do what they want with it. Basics of civilization. Israel existed before the Palestinian Arabs came. Jews never left the area even when Israel was destroyed.
