..and people outside the US wonder why religion and government is such a huge issue here in the US. Even if the farm lobbies were unsuccessful in shooting it down in the first place, this type of law would be struck down in the US in a New York minute after an ACLU or Jewish organization lawsuit.
This is also a prime example of why the second some one says, "Well they have been doing it in Europe...", is usually wrong. I swear, the next time I hear some stupid European whining about America's "violent" ways, or especially lingering racism problems here, I'm going to rub this in their face. Yeah the US would be really peaceful if we just got rid of everyone except the white Caucasians....
