Dude.

You start off by saying there were WMDs...
now you are saying there was some group set up to kill people.

A government loses credibility from the minute they mobilise a war for one
reason, and that reason turns out to be completely false.

So stick with that fact, and all the rest is just supposition and extraneous
nonsense.

You look at all the WHAT IFs from one perspective, and someone else can take
another view and show that there were several efficient and effective levels
of response to protect the world and America; apart from engaging in a 10
year war with tens of thousands of servicemen worldwide dead, Trillions of
dollars in debt and an even greater terrorist problem in that country.

The ONLY reason to have gone to war at that point was that Saddam HAD
biological, chemical and/or nuclear missiles and he was preparing to use
them.

And the US Government knew that, and that's why they spun the story about
WMDs. The goal was to invade Iraq. And the only way to get the American
people and the world behind that goal, was to say Saddam had WMDs.

That's the facts.

Anything else that you say now, decade later is irrelevant and immaterial to
the decision that was made ten+ years ago.

Here is General Clark discussing the decision to invade Iraq, and the
countries that were supposed to follow.
