My point was, in the overall timeline of these cycles, 17 years is not even the equivalent of an eye blink. the temperatures may have not increased in the last 17 years, but the current trend is that it is getting warmer. The graphs we both posted show that the cycles are not straight lines, there are a lot of fluctuations. As I said, during a cooling period, there are times when it does get warmer, or not change at all, but the trend is that it is getting cooler.
