WTF is "the gay lifestyle"?

As for Common Core, I'm reserving judgement. My daughter is finishing up
1st grade and going into 2nd and so I don't know that I've really seen the
full effect yet. I generally like the way they are teaching math, though it
is a bit slow for my daughter, and they are doing a pretty decent job with
reading. She's also in an international baccalaureate school, so her
program has some additional requirements that a regular school under common
core may not.

My biggest complaint isn't about the curriculum, it is about the
standardized testing approach. Too much focus on testing gets in the way of
effective teaching, in my opinion. There are many ways of demonstrating
learning, almost all of them better than standardized testing. On the other
hand, without standardized testing it is difficult to compare schools and
programs and teachers, so I can understand why people would push for it. It
just generally seems like a tool that is used for a number of purposes that
have nothing to do with actual learning by children.

Cheers,
Judah
