Since the deck is stacked against our proverbial woman ( who for the most
part is an underpriviledged teenager) due to our society's attitudes towards
her and her biological state, I don't think its contradictory at all.

The double standard that exists NOW is that in most cases of unwanted
pregnancy the woman is entirely responsible for birth control, the decision
what to do when she gets pregnant, she is entirely responsible for having
the abortion, she is responsible for raising the kid when she is 15 years
old herself and she is responsible for what happens when the kid grows up to
be a criminal. The guy is responsible for screwing her.

This seems very fair, doesn't it?

She is also
a) a slut for having sex with someone
b) using abortion for covenience sake if she has one
or possibly
c) damned for being a single mother with bastard children

The way things currently are is that the woman has all the responsibility
and none of the options are appealing.

Now if guys were actually as responsible as I say they should be before
having the child, all of this is a moot point because what will happen to
the embryo has been decided BEFORE its created. She isnt' burdened with the
responsibility, and he isn't shirking his. But of course, my ideal
situation rarely exists.
