I wouldn't have the first idea how to go about getting an illegal gun in
this country, and I couldn't get one legally. I certainly don't feel that
makes me more likely to be a victim. It's just not a logical argument.

It doesn't appear to be a high-powered sniper rifle, just a run of the mill
assualt rifle, probably with a decent scope.

I bought mine (different caliber, stored in a different state) for $600,
including the scope.

And as for the gov keeping guns from being bought, I have a .22 rifle that
my grandfather made for me (including drilling the barrel), and I have a .50
smooth bore that I built (although I bought the barrel from another guy).

Making them illegal, and even preventing mass manufacture will not keep guns
out of peoples' hands.
