And given the other threads on here lately, please don't tell us you are suing them
for a trillion dollars. ;)

Seems fair that they should clean it up, reimburse you for any time and expenses, and
then maybe as a measure of goodwill improve your backyard when they put it back
together ... maybe sprinkler system, landscaped, and a play area for the kids (if you
didn't already have that). And of course not make you sign a disclaimer saying they
are not responsible for any health problems!

Wouldn't it be nice if they took responsibility for their actions and just came to you
and told you that this is what they would like to do, and not have it be because they
are covering up for something? Get a few responsible corporate citizens and people
wouldn't feel like they need to sue to get the bare minimum they deserve (and of
course pain and suffering!!!!).

Well, nice dream ... now back to reality ...

Look around, you may be able to find someone who would do the work Pro Bono.
I'm sure there are plenty of non-profit enviornmental groups who could
direct you to someone that would.

Hey all,
I just have to bitch for a moment, cause I'm not able to think about
anything else right now. The manufacturing plant in my backyard called last
week to tell me that they've just discovered a 15-year-old chemical
(tetrachloroethene) spill that most likely extends into my backyard. Yee ha.
Originally, I gave them verbal permission to come in and test for it. But,
I've since talked to a specialist who says that I should probably get a
lawyer and negotiate for compensation for the loss of my property value
first, and to make them not do the remediation until after I've given birth.

So, now I get to go through the thoroughly thrilling process of finding a
lawyer and paying a lawyer to determine what the heck to do about all this.
*sigh*

ticked, depressed, annoyed, and hormonal to boot,
d
