I have worked with CF sense version 2 and ASP sense version 1.

I have worked with .NET sense it came out, I used betas and did a lot of
work while the product was in beta.

I have worked with C++ for a few years more than that and VB sense ASP
Version 1.

I have equal experience in ASP and CF, and equal experience in CFMX and
NET

Prior to all of that, I used Perl and Python.

All things being equal Development time can be the primary factor behind
the choice.

In my line of work things come down to time, how long will it take to
complete the application and write it correctly? Well if CF will take a
month and .NET will take 6 weeks, then CF is gonna win. It has gone both
ways here, in some things .NET is fast as so we go with it.

Between .NET and CFMX there are little differences in what the platform
can do, it usually comes down to development time and the clients
configuration, if they have a Linux server then they are getting CF, if
we are extending an existing application, then 9 times out 10 it is
being written in the original language.
