Sorry. I guess I just misinterpreted the tone of the message.
AFA listening to NPR -- yah, I can swing with that. Although, to be honest,
most of what they play is too sleepy for my tastes. Car Talk, on the other
hand....
Of course, there are advantages to listening to widely recognized music.
Once, as I pulled into the library parking lot, I got this angry stare from
some old fart in a suit as he heard the blasting base beats from my stereo.
It was so great to see the startled look on his face as I got close enough
for him to recognize the cannonfire from the 1812 Oveture! Sweet!
Anyway, sorry if I jumped your case undeservedly. I'm just a bit grumpy
these days. I have a project that has to be alpha-demo'd next Wed, and I
lost the last week and a half to problems with another project for the same
client. So I'm a week behind at least, and time's getting seriously short.
Grump!

: I said before that I really don't know much about classical music. I'm
: probably on par with you on that. My real recommendation was that
: instead of listening to the 7 songs that get played constantly, just
: tune in a classical music station and start listening. That way there is
: more variety.
:
: Sure all the songs listed are popular. And they're popular for a reason.
: Microsoft's domination of the market has killed all compe...oh wait. Um.
: Yeah. I got into classical by listening to all the same stuff as has
: been listed. It's just that there's a LOT of stuff out there that is
: really nice that I don't even know the names of. I'm not trying to be a
: snob. I'm not cultured enough to do so. I just turn on the radio and
: enjoy.
