The only reason the finger is being pointed at the current administration is because the graft, bribery, profiteering and corruption is taking place here and now. No apologies needed.
Clinton and Gore did not leave office billionaires, as Bush/Cheney will. The rest of the Bush cabinet is profiting likewise in real dollars, not the case with the previous administration. The benefits being doled out to the rich are not from any surplus of government need, but by borrowing heavily against the future generations, a characteristic that seems to be uniquely republican for the past 25 years or so. And the spending against the future continues. The state governments in many cases are even worse, in that when the economy is down, they do not cut back, but increase taxes. When petroleum prices started edging up in the 1960s, the states increased taxes.
