Okay, but my original point was that there was a "reason" someone wrote down
which foods a person could or could not eat. My logic assumes that there was
no divine inscription on a tablet somewhere.

That's nice as a reason but the point is moot to people like me. To us it's

law from God so we do it. Same with not eating shell fish, eagles, dog, cat,
etc. Actually, the Torah itself says that keeping Kosher is a law that 'just
is'
and needs no explanation (some others have explanations).
