> Science is not nice...it can't be personified like an almighty god. Of course it can. When people think of science, they usually think of Einstein or other names/faces. Personification in a greater degree than any diety. (that's besides the point that I don't personify God)

Most of magic from day one to now is outside of the realm of science. > > On day one...the wheel would have been magical to any human who > happened to be around. I don't think so. Roll a rock down a hill and it's magic? Maybe show a lightbulb to a caveman, but not a wheel. But that goes to the quote "any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic". Any sufficiently advanced magic is indistinquishable from advanced science (or a rigged result). > > MD> Yes, some like chemistry are pulled in but try writing the mathematical equation > MD> of a ghost. But many still believe in them and claim experiences with them. Hm, thousands of years of people claiming ghosts, magic, God, etc. A few hundred years of science. Maybe we should listen to the french and let the inspectors look around some more. Maybe they'll explain magic as well. They've got lots of time. :) > MD> So if there are things that exist outside of science, maybe some of those > MD> beliefs that are associated (like belief in God and rules given by that God) are > MD> true as well. But that's just my take. > > Unless God just rolls the dice on how things happen...I would think God > put's some thought into what the hell he is doing. If that is the > case, science is just a study of God's thought processes, which I > presume are not under the control of any other mysterious force...or > else we would be worshipping that other force, no? In my tradition and belief, there is a structure to creation. No dice rolls, just a beginning, end and a plan to move from one point to another. Soem fudging may be needed to help move things along, but thats not random. Science as a study of creation is exactly how I feel. Physical creation. Creation with set laws of cause and effect. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Your ad could be here.
