I'm not sure I agree with you there. Which mechanism exists in charity that guarantees that no particular group of disadvantaged/disabled people, lepers for instance, is completely shut out?

And I think there is nothing wrong with some people feeling entitled. Some *are* entitled, and rightly so.
The thing that is wrong is that some receive it when they are not entitled. And in that case it is completely irrelevant how they feel about it, the only relevant question is why they get it when they are not entitled to it.

Further, I don't think just preventing starvation is enough. I do believe that society as a whole should also make sure that those who need it and are unable to obtain access themselves should be provided with reasonable access to for instance health services and education.
