Depends on how much travelling you want to do.

I would suggest doing a whistle stop tour of London....definetly do the
london eye.

Then get a car, head along the M3, A30 via Stonehenge, up to Glastonbury,
into Bath (where I live) cut across to Cardiff, head north via Merthyr
Tydfil (sp), head to the northern coast of Wales (Llandudnod), Head to the
midlands (no reason),

Please note you are missing out on Devon and Cornwall to a certain extent.

Somebody take over here!

Head north, see the Angel of the North. Sleep with a slapper (just go out in
Wakefield on a Friday or Saturday night :P ). Get to Blackpool. Scare
yourself on the Pepsi Max. Stay at or near the North Pier. The place is a
hen and stag party magnet, so go out dressed as texans and watch those girls
come flocking in.  It's the 'nicer' end of town.

Eventually arrive at Edinburough, head somewhere wild, shoot a stag, fish
some salmon from a salmon farm :), head south, Visit York, then into the
whetlands of Norfolk. Rent a boat

Back to London

Unfortunately, we'll only be there 8 days with 2 days travel time for a
total of 10 days.  We want to start out in England, probably outside of
London, or would London be a good place to stay.  My brother and I aren't
real artsy, so we're not going to want to visit art galleries or museums.
We both like castles.  We like beer......a lot.  We're also big into
scenery.  Would it be possible to do a circuit of England, Ireland &
Scotland in that period of time, or would our time be better spent
concentrating on one area.  You've got to understand that I'm an American
whose never stepped outside the country (not even to Mexico though I live
in
Texas) and I'm not sure of the scale of things.

there are so many great things to do.  How long are you going to be here?
There are a lot of London things to do - you could easily fill a couple
weeks there alone.  I like Scotland - Edinburgh is fab.  Cork (Ireland) is
a
nice place to drink.  You could always take a train from London to Paris
and
spend a day or two (or more) there for very cheap as well).  There are so
many options.  Let me know what you're most interested in doing, spending,
and your timings and I'll gladly give you some advice ;)

My Brother called me up yesterday and asked me if I've ever wanted to go
  to
England.  I said yeah.  He said that he's got enough flight miles to go
there and back 5 times.  He said he's always wanted to go and thought
that
we'd have the most fun going together.  Damn what a cool brother :-)

Anyway, I know some of you people are from "across the pond" so I was
wondering if you had some "must go" destinations in mind.  We'd like to
go
to England, Ireland, and Scotland.  We like to do some pub hopping,
maybe
take in some castles, and whatever else might be good to see.

    Thanks
