great though. I'm forwarding on all of these messages to my brother and
we're slowly hacking an itinerary together. Thanks for all of the
suggestions!

You can stay in a castle you know ... there's plenty that do B&B
service.
You could travel from Castle to Castle from England to Ireland to
Scotland stopping at all the pubs along the way. Rent a car. Also, by
driving from South England to Ireland, you can drive through Wales and
cross that off your list, because you can take the ferry from Fishguard.
(We've done Wales twice, the second time was to take the Fishguard Ferry
to Ireland.)
Now, bear in mind. To drive from south of London to Fishguard took us 6
hours. Another 3.5 hours on the slow ferry to Ireland. You'd need to
book a ferry out of Ireland to North England. From there, Scotland is
still another 6 hours away to get into the really scenic mountains and
Lochs. totally doable in your ten days, if all you want to see is
Castles, scenery and pubs.
This type of travel is our specialty. Remember, we did 6 countries (2000
miles) in 4 days AND fit a trip to the Louvre in there! LOLOLOL
If you did this, you'd need to fly into Gatwick (which is FAR easier to
get in an out of than Heathrow in a car) and then fly out of Glasgow.
Is this something that interests you? I've done this research and
spending a little time finding alll thelinks again, I could give you
tons of information to make something like this a reality.
