Agreed it is a piece of fiction.   The local news folks have been giving this a
lot of coverage, especially trying to dig up any potential controversy.  They
have interviewed Rabbi after Rabbi, at least the ones who have seen the
previews, and none seem to be concerned about any wave of anti-Semitic feelings,
in fact they seem to feel the screenwriters went to great length to point the
finger at P Pilate.
All of them have ended their interviews with statements along the line of
"Chirstian viewers will have deep and moving personal experiences."

As for it making Gibson money, I would imagine it will, if from nothing but the
extreme level of hype the movie has generated.
