Usually, you find the best fees by mixing and matching. Authorize.Net is about as inexpensive as you can get for a gateway solution. Their AIM does not require any software installation on the server, so it's a fairly portable solution. We've had pretty good luck with them. Chances are you'll find more variation in the Internet merchant account fees and your business checking account.
