I do not think it does. IIRC, the label information is embedded in the 
dictionaries of the source pdf files. CF probably does not touch it at all. So 
when you open the merged file in Adobe Reader it just uses whatever information 
is already there.

Well if you add a header with _PAGENUMBER, it will display the correct numbers. 
So again, I do not think that is what is happening

If it is not deliberately restricted via DDX, then I agree. Resetting the page 
labels should be possible via cfdpf. Though they did add a ton of cfpdf 
attributes in CF9. So it is possible it was just low priority. Seeing as how 
there is a ddx work-around.

You mean those folks at Adobe? I did hear a rumor they know a little something 
about pdf's. But I try not to put much faith in rumors ..
