Hi Claude I'm not suggesting you learn Cobol. I'd recommend learning the basics of all of the following JavaScript Java Ruby Python PHP Then pick one you feel is most natural to you and go with it, all of the above require only a few hours each to learn the basics via online free courses.
Learning any of the above will improve your coldfusion skills, even if you're still working with CF in 10 years time, you will benefit greatly from knowing another language.
