OK I feel like a bit of a rant - I think MM would make life a lot easier for themselves if they avoided the demo FLEX apps you can do already in HTML (ok and maybe a bit of javascript).
I don't think I'd quite grace any of those code examples with the epithet "application" but I can see your point. The camera browser application shown in the Breeze presentation is probably more representative of what Flex is capable of...
