Thanks for all the posts! A lot of food for thought. If you are a sole trader or in a partnership, do you have to pay super? I thought that super was not compulsory for sole traders and partners. I will have to investigate this.
I had not considered professional indemnity/public liability insurance cover. What level of cover would be acceptable? How much does it cost? Do you really have to be prepared to travel around Australia if you want to be a contractor? While I have been subscribed to CF-Jobs for a few years I have not been checking the Aus job sites much until now. In the last 12 months there have been 9 contract opportunities advertised on CF-Jobs for Brisbane. I know not all vacancies advertised on the job sites are recorded on CF-Jobs. So my question is - have there been many more Brisbane contract opportunities advertised on the job sites other than those 9 advertised on CF-Jobs?
