I haven't used the Chapel IRC, so my only thought would be is the conversation worth logging? If it is, then moving to a platform that logs the conversation would be a good idea. My experience with using IRC in the past is that often there is little worth logging (a side effect of a real time conversation, where people frequently go off topic), and searching through any logs for the nuggets that might be useful might not be worth the hassle. Alternatively, if (and this is again based on experience with other IRC channels, the Chapel channel may not have this problem) it is felt there is useful information on those conversations then try to minimize any off topic stuff if it is happening. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ Chapel-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/chapel-users
